War of the Worlds: The Mob vs. The Martians and the Fall of Boston - October 29-31 @ 8 PM and October 31 Matinee @ 2 PM - Somerville Theater
Neil Marsh and I co-wrote a revisioning of War of the Worlds in Boston, featuring mobsters from the North and South Ends. Based on the version played on Orson Welles' show, it features special guests including Somerville's own Tom Champion! I edited Act I and wrote Act II, and developed the "Mob vs. the Martians" concept.
NOVELS
Supervillainz - 2006 Lambda Literary Award Finalist and Winner of the 2003 Project QueerLit competition. A self-aggrandizing superhero has his head shot off by the crowd he is trying to impress. It is scooped up by a pair of curious friends, Bit and Devon - fresh from college, transgendered and much too smart for their own good. Follow them on an exciting journey in which they learn the secrets of the superheroes, charm their mother and literally bring the house down upon them with some very unlikely allies.
Provincetown, Ho! - An adventurous exploration of working-class life on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Retiree Sarah Carter has gathered so much stress over her life, she needs to walk from end of Cape Cod to Provincetown. Most people retire to Cape Cod to settle down. A lucky few come to stir things up. Those Sotheby’s "For Sale" signs lining Route 6A aren’t going to knock themselves down!
PLAYS
The Cabal of Lady Windermere's Bottom - A tribute to the comedies of Oscar Wilde. Like Paris Hilton inventing the Masons, a clique of Victorian socialites create a Cabal to skirt free from the machinations of their Matriarch, only to uncover a horrid scandal about her. To be added soon.
The B'Arkies - A one-act, ten minute play. The fantasy lives of a young autistic man and a paranoid homeless woman come together and transform them in an Amélie-type tale. Performed as part of Ten Tiny Shows on September 19 at the Central Square YMCA, part of a set of ten ten-minute plays by local performance artists, produced by the Amazon Slam's own Ren Jender.
